God, thank you for the Caterpillars and Butterflies!

Insects help pollinate our flowers and vegetables in the garden. They help us, we have to help them. Be an insect protector, and look out for these wonderful little creatures. Practice ‘capture and release’ if you find an insect in your home; carefully capture him in a bowl or jar, and release him outside without injuring him on the journey. In God’s eyes, you are a friend to all creature, big and small!

I found a little caterpillar eating parsley in my garden. He was so beautiful! I check on him everyday. I know that he will go through a change, become a chrysalis, and eventually emerge as a beautiful Swallowtail butterfly. When I see the detail and the beautiful colors that God used when he designed the insects, I feel that he was an artist. He gave us these beautiful things to enjoy, and to make us happy. Here is a picture of the caterpillar that will turn into a Swallowtail butterfly.

Here is the Swallowtail butterfly. The beautiful wings are so delicate, with an intricate pattern.

God, thank you for the Caterpillars and Butterflies!

Dear God,

I pray that people everywhere in this world, will continue to respect and love the things that you created. There are so many different species of insects, birds, animals, fish, amphibians and reptiles that I haven’t even seen most of them. They all serve a purpose. Most important, you designed them to be helpful to our ecosystem, many times helpful to us. Animals have saved our lives from predators, comforted us when we are sick or sad, and lead us to safety when we are lost.

I pray that anyone that is blind is able to get a seeing eye dog. I pray that anyone that is lonely will find an animal to take care of. I pray that the leaders of this world will continue to provide guidance and legislation that protect animals and the environment from toxic chemicals produced by auto emissions and manufacturing processes. I pray that everyone will courageously reach out and help any injured creature, big or small. I pray that people will stop hunting animals for sport or pleasure. Killing an innocent creature is not a sport.

I pray all of these things in the name of Jesus, thank you God, Amen.
